Director of STEM, Orkhan Yolchuyev, participated in the 8th Meeting of the Youth Council of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), held on 12–13 November. O. Yolchuyev delivered remarks during the panel of leaders of the volunteer movements of the member states. The STEM Director elaborated on the historical development of the volunteer movement in Azerbaijan, the country’s extensive experience accumulated in this field, and the role of volunteerism as a form of “soft power” within geopolitical processes. He also responded to questions from the youth. The speakers presented various practical proposals and innovative approaches aimed at addressing current challenges. During the two-day conference, the final document of the Youth Council of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) was adopted. As part of the conference program, training sessions were organized under the theme “Sustainable Development Goals in Action.” Throughout the sessions, participants discussed the role of youth in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and exchanged views on initiatives and innovative approaches that could be applied in this domain. A total of 110 participants from 19 countries took part in the conference.
At the conclusion of the program, participants visited the city of Shusha and familiarized themselves with the cultural heritage of Karabakh.
