The foreign ministers of Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and Italy are urgently working on a plan to resolve the conflict in Gaza as an alternative to proposals by former U.S. President Donald Trump, Financial Times (FT) reports.

According to the publication, European countries are collaborating with their Arab allies to swiftly draft a plan to present to the White House. The initiative aims to prevent the displacement of Palestinians from the enclave and the transfer of control over Gaza to the United States.

"Palestinians and Arabs must find a middle ground on how Gaza will be governed, rather than leaving it to the U.S. and Israel," FT quotes a European official as saying.

The official also noted that European nations are working with Arab partners on both financial support and the development of a governance plan to fill the existing gap in managing Gaza.
