A meeting was held at the STEM Center with Victor Kipiani — Chairman of the Georgian think tank Geocase and a prominent expert in international law and geopolitics. The discussion centered on the current challenges and ongoing transformations in the South Caucasus region, as well as Georgia’s foreign policy orientation amid a changing global agenda.
Particular emphasis was placed on the geopolitical dynamics of the South Caucasus. According to Victor Kipiani, the region remains in a constant state of flux: “The South Caucasus is continuously evolving. For Georgia, Azerbaijan is a strategic partner — and it will remain so,” he noted.
The conversation also addressed the influence of major global powers — particularly Russia, China, and the United States — on the region.
Within the framework of international security, the potential for enhanced military cooperation between Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey was discussed.
The peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia was another key topic. Mr. Kipiani underscored that Georgia fully supports the peaceful resolution of the conflict and views the signing of a peace agreement as a positive development — not only for regional stability but also for the national interests of the countries involved.
The expert further elaborated on Georgia’s evolving foreign policy course. He emphasized that Georgia is currently pursuing a more balanced and pragmatic external strategy in light of rapid global changes.
The meeting concluded with an informal exchange and a traditional group photo, underlining the importance of such engagements in fostering dialogue and mutual understanding across the region.
