The STEM Analytical Center held a substantive meeting with Tarlan Alekperov, Editor-in-Chief of the republican newspaper Derbent. The primary objective of the discussion was to examine current issues related to the development of the autochthonous Azerbaijani population in the region, as well as potential areas for joint cooperation in the humanitarian and economic spheres.
During the meeting, the parties addressed a broad range of topics, including the life of the autochthonous Azerbaijani community in Derbent, its contribution to the city’s social and cultural development, and contemporary challenges associated with preserving linguistic and cultural identity. Tarlan Alekperov emphasized the strong cohesion within the autochthonous Azerbaijani population, noting that this unity plays a crucial role in maintaining and transmitting national traditions to younger generations.
Particular attention was devoted to issues of economic collaboration and the prospects for implementing joint research and media initiatives.
Both sides expressed confidence that continued cooperation would contribute to strengthening intercultural dialogue and supporting initiatives aimed at advancing regional development.
