A meeting was held at the STEM Analytical Center with representatives of the Ludovika University of Public Service (Hungary). The guests of the center were Ms. Liliana Śmiech, General Director for International Relations at Ludovika University, and Mr. Dávid Biró, Senior Advisor to the Director General and Coordinator of the Ludovika Center for Turkic Studies.
The main topic of the meeting was the development of cooperation between Hungary and the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). Director of the STEM Center Orkhan Yolchuyev welcomed the guests and emphasized that the OTS represents much more than a simple form of regionalization. According to him, Turkic integration should not be limited to identity issues but should contribute to forming a new regional balance. He also noted that the OTS+ format serves as a strong platform with significant potential for collaboration.
During the discussion, Orkhan Yolchuyev presented the center’s recent project, “Soul Geography,” aimed at fostering expert cooperation among researchers from Central Asia and Azerbaijan. The guests from Ludovika University expressed gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted the vast potential for partnership with the Azerbaijani side.
They shared information about Ludovika University’s plans, including the establishment of a Turkic Diplomatic Academy and the launch of their own academic journal dedicated to studies of the Turkic world.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to organize joint events, webinars, and research projects aimed at strengthening academic and expert ties. The meeting ended with a memory photo, underscoring mutual interest in further developing cooperation.
