The STEM Center for Analytical Research has concluded its courses for young specialists in international relations, diplomacy, political science, journalism, and related fields on the topic of "Current Geopolitics of the South Caucasus in a Changing World."
On the final day of the seminar, a lecture was delivered by the director of the STEM Center, Orkhan Yolchuyev. The seminar was attended by representatives from the academic community and analysts from specialized research centers. It is worth noting that the two-month course began on August 6, featuring specialists and experts from various fields at each session.
During the lecture, in-depth discussions were held on contemporary geopolitical challenges, and strategies for adapting to new global realities were evaluated. Key aspects of the "Potsdam" world order, established following World War II, were highlighted, including the creation of military-political blocs (NATO, the Warsaw Pact), the "Cold War" between two poles, its conclusion with the collapse of the Soviet Union, and the disintegration of the socialist bloc.
As Orkhan Yolchuyev noted, the history of geopolitics after World War II is marked by profound changes in international relations, the transition to a bipolar system, decolonization, regional conflicts, and, ultimately, the transformation of the global order into a multipolar world. The lecture provided a detailed discussion of contemporary geopolitical challenges and evaluated strategies for adapting to new global realities.
The seminar also analyzed various geopolitical doctrines that reflect differing approaches to foreign policy in the South Caucasus, particularly in the context of France and the United States. The role of Azerbaijan in reshaping the regional order in the South Caucasus following its victory in the 44-day war was examined in detail.
At the conclusion of the seminar, participants were ceremoniously awarded certificates for completing the course on "Current Geopolitics of the South Caucasus in a Changing World."
The monthly courses were conducted by prominent experts, political scientists, and economists from across the country. Lectures were delivered by Doctor of Philosophy in Economics Ilgar Velizade, Director of the Caucasus History Center Rizvan Huseynov, Doctor of Philosophy in Economics Emin Garibov, political scientist Orkhan Nabiyev, and logistics expert Rauf Agamirzoyev.
Participants had the opportunity to ask questions to the experts, discuss pressing topics in an informal setting, and exchange contacts for future collaboration.
