Today, the STEM Analytical Center was honoured to host Mr. John Patterson, Member and former Chairperson of the British Chamber of Commerce Azerbaijan, for a discussion on UK–Azerbaijan relations and prospects for future cooperation.
The meeting focused on key developments in UK–Azerbaijani economic relations, with particular attention to trade, investment, and private-sector engagement. Importantly, the meeting touched on logistics and transport, examining the growing strategic and economic importance of the Middle Corridor and the potential role it can play in enhancing regional connectivity.
A significant part of the discussion was dedicated to the education sector, including institutional collaborations between Azerbaijani and British stakeholders. The discussion also touched on ongoing efforts by Azerbaijani institutions to establish cooperation with Imperial College London in the area of artificial intelligence, particularly through educational programmes and targeted training courses. The STEM Analytical Center also proposed broadening these discussions to include logistics and energy, identifying them as complementary areas where analytical expertise and knowledge exchange could add value to existing educational initiatives.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of sustained dialogue between analytical institutions and the business community in identifying practical avenues for collaboration and supporting informed decision-making. Both sides expressed interest in maintaining contact and exploring opportunities for further engagement, including the potential participation in joint discussions and events.
