U.S. President Donald Trump has tasked his special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, with resolving the Ukrainian conflict within 100 days.

This  information was published by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

The WSJ notes that "striking a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin will be a far more complex challenge than Trump envisioned during his campaign, when he pledged to end the conflict before taking office."

Sources revealed that Trump intends to personally oversee the negotiation process regarding Ukraine. Former colleagues of Kellogg told the newspaper that he is not seen as an independent figure and heavily relies on the president's directives. As a result, it is alleged that Kellogg "will not be allowed to take part in any substantive U.S.-Russia negotiations."
