A meeting was held at the STEM Analytical Center with Venera Mustafayeva, Director of the Migration Policy Research Center of Topkapı University (Türkiye). Experts of the center and interns took part in the meeting.

During the discussion, Venera Mustafayeva presented the results of her research devoted to Turkic peoples and Turkic cultural heritage in the countries of the Middle East, with particular emphasis on Iraq, Iran, and Syria. Special attention was paid to her field research conducted in Iraq and Iran, within the framework of which she studied the lifestyle, identity, and cultural heritage of Turkman communities.

The speaker emphasized the significant closeness between Azerbaijanis and Turkmans in terms of language, culture, and historical memory, noting that Turkmans openly express a warm attitude and sympathy toward Azerbaijan.

In addition, Venera Mustafayeva spoke about the cultural and educational projects implemented by Türkiye in the Middle East, aimed at preserving and promoting Turkic heritage, as well as developing humanitarian ties in the region.

The meeting concluded with a discussion of prospects for further cooperation and academic exchanges between research institutions.
